Conservatory Outlet Rolls Out Training Programme to Support New Communication Strategies
Conservatory Outlet continues to demonstrate its commitment to the personal and professional development of its employees by rolling out a bespoke training programme devised to enhance communication skillsets and strategies.
This coincides with the rollout of a revised communication policy that reinforces communication as a tool of collaboration and engagement across the business and with the company’s exclusive 27-strong retail network.
The Wakefield-based manufacturer of home improvement products including windows, doors and new living spaces, has overseen the creation of a training course that outlines effective communication strategies in both internal and external settings.
The course is the first to originate from direct feedback received in employee-led workshops, where several staff members identified high-level communication training would be beneficial for their personal development programmes.
“It is vital that we work with our employees and help them realise their true potential,” explained Karen Clough, Conservatory Outlet’s Group Marketing Director.
“Communication is incredibly important and with the different channels available, it’s crucial to know how to maximise each one and communicate effectively.
“Around 80% of the information we receive is inadvertently forgotten and so to help our staff convey messages in different mediums and with greater clarity and understanding is a huge benefit.
“This goes hand-in-hand with our revised communication policy, which will have a significant impact on engagement throughout the business and help support the lifeblood of our company, our customers.”
The course was delivered by Conservatory Outlet’s Training Partner, Paul Yates.
With decades of experience in business coaching and overseeing personal and business development, Paul is the ideal person to help build the skillset of Conservatory Outlet’s 200-plus strong workforce.
“So far, I’ve spent two fantastic days rolling out this communication workshop. The groups have all been engaging and everyone has grasped the opportunity to increase their ability and learn new skills.
“I’m certainly looking forward to continuing to deliver this worthwhile training programme and share it with the entire Conservatory Outlet team.”
So far, forty members of staff from across the business have completed the course, with more to follow in the coming weeks and months.
Commenting on the course, Jean Bradley, a member of Conservatory Outlet’s Purchasing Department, said: “Given my role involves working with both internal and external customers across our supply chain, I found the session extremely interesting and rewarding. I picked up new skills and tips, and I’m looking forward to putting what I learnt into action.”
Karen Starkey, Head of HR, concluded: “Creating successful communication is vital to every individual’s success. It’s been a delight working with Karen and Paul to deliver this training programme and further empower our staff.
“Through constant tutoring and coaching, we ultimately create a collaborative environment that delivers win-wins across the business and our wider Network.”
