Wakefield’s Conservatory Outlet is giving health and wellbeing central prominence with a brand-new internal training programme.
Delivered by Charlotte Dudill, the firm’s HR Business Partner, to the fabricator’s management team, the course is tailored to help identify potential causes of concerns within their team and advise on the necessary steps required to provide tailored help and support on a one-to-one basis.
This proactive approach is backed up by a further commitment to the health and wellbeing of Conservatory Outlet’s 250-plus strong workforce with free-to-access private support services, available through the company’s Health Shield Programme.
Upon competition of the training courses, delegates had to pass an assessment to achieve an internal qualification that would contribute to their professional development plans.
Charlotte Dudill, who led the multi-day training programme had this to say: “The training showed managers how we can support employees with wellness action plans and why it’s important to do so.”
Nikki Lewis, Marketing Manager, who took part in the course added: “Businesses must offer management training as the presence of a skilled and compassionate manager is proven to drive progress and engagement through their team.
“Improving leadership skills and providing a strong and open support network leads is vital. Being a manager isn’t just about setting goals and achieving targets; it’s about understanding how individual team members work, what motivates them and providing them with the tools, environment and support needed to succeed.”
Charlotte concluded by saying: “By being able to better spot certain traits, we can further support our staff, improve morale and, crucially, build better links across the business.”
